Tata Motors Nepal Organized SAARC Level – TechFest and SkillFest 2019

In an initiative to recognise the knowledge & skills of its technicians across all the authorised workshops, Tata Motors in association with MAK Lubricants conducted a two day 'Techfest & Skillfest 2019' in Kathmandu on 11 and 12 April, 2019. The program was hosted by Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd.
12 Technicians and 12 Service Advisors (3 contestants from each category from each country) from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka competed on SAARC level.
In Service Advisor category, Mr. Ujjawal Pariyar, from Sipradi, Nepal, won the 1st prize. Similarly, Mr. Raja Ram KC, also from Sipradi, Nepal won the 2nd prize. Mr. Abdul Malek from Bangladesh and Mr. Melaka Pushpasara from Sri Lanka won the 3rd prize jointly.
Likewise, in Technician's category, Mr. Dem Bahadur Lama from Sipradi, Nepal won the 1st prize, Mr. Danushka Kumara from Srilanka won the 2nd prize and Mr. Alamgir Hossain from Bangladesh won the 3rd prize.
The award distribution ceremony was held in Hotel Yak & Yeti, Kathmandu.
Prior to SAARC round, there were Preliminary/Workshop round, Regional Round and National Round for technicians from Nepal. Altogether 250 technicians took part in preliminary round. Among them 60 technicians entered in Regional Round Nepal; and among them 12 technicians got selected for National Round Nepal, and the Top 3 candidates from National Round got the opportunity to compete in SAARC round.
Similarly for Service Advisors, there was Regional round and National Round. Altogether 54 service Advisors took part in Regional round; and among them 14 Advisors got selected for National Round, and Top 3 candidates of National Round got opportunity to compete in SAARC round.
For both Technicians and Service Advisors category, there were five Modules of competition such as written examination, electrical fault finding, mechanical aggregate overhauling, vehicle diagnosis by using software and interview.
The winners of both Skillfest and Techfest will compete for Title award at Global Level on April end at Tata Motors Limited, Pune. The Global competition will consist the regional winners from SAARC, ASEAN, Africa, Middle East, Russia & CIS and LATAM.
